Linux

So you probably already guessed it from the name of the website; I am a Linux user!

I started in 1996 with using Red Hat in School and Slackware at home. In my first job I also used Slackware.

When I changed jobs I also change linux distro, because they were using Suse Linux. But soon this changed to Debian Linux which I still like alot. But for the desktop it was a bit to restrictive for me so after hestiating a long time a gave Ubuntu a try (which is based on Debian so it couldn't be that bad).

This was a nice experience since things just worked out of the box. Also I must admit I used Fluxbox as my main window manager for a long time. This required some extra fiddling to get things working. Now I am using Gnome, which is bloated I admit. So I guess using Gnome under Debian would also make live a little bit easier.
